When I came to Mumbai, I met a friend and he suggested I should take up acting too, he got me the Balaji audition. You cannot bank on it for the future.' I asked my mom not to pressurize me so much. You cannot keep waiting for a reality show to come up. It was a one-take audition for Shaurya When I was making the move from Hyderabad, my mom was like, 'Now that you are going, do this one thing take up a TV show. And the next stage was Splitsvilla 4 and the reality shows. They said, 'You are not the most good-looking man in the house but you have the charm.' It did stay with me. I had something that people really liked. I was not good-looking but had a charm With YouTube, I did understand that I could face the camera and do dialogue delivery. That gave me an opportunity to learn a lot from different people. I didn't really have people who were staying in my life I was constantly reallocating and relocating so I would have to make new friends and adjust to a new atmosphere constantly. My mom kept changing schools for me that also had its setbacks, pros and cons. There were a lot of behaviour issues so I was sent from this school to that. I had a lot of behaviour issues By the end of my academics, and my schooling life I had been a student at 5 different schools. I didn't have any plan but I knew I was on my own so that is one of the most important stages, I believe that was the beginning of Baseer. I had that understanding at a very early age. It's not like, 'Tumhare baap dada ne kuch chhod ke gaye hai tumhare liye.' I had to do what I had to do to make that life. That taught me that I am on my own and I had to figure it out. My family was separated and my dad was gone It has a lot of past, definitely how my family was separated and my dad was gone. So being respected and appreciated over there did give me a lot of confidence and I can see how that has impacted over here for sure. It is really difficult to get appreciation from the same gender of that age group, being a guy of 20 years old as they have those ego clashes and all. When I came out and I saw these youngsters, the boys who were 16-18-year-olds. I feel like I found myself again, that gave me a lot of confidence when I was doing well on these shows. Reality shows are where I recreated myself I think reality shows are the place where I was recreated. When I got there I was like 'I can do this'. Coming from Hyderabad, I was like Dilli wale ladke bohot tez hote hai, Bombay wale shaane hote hai, dekhte hai Hyderabadi ka kya hoga. When I started doing reality shows, I was like okay I am going to be competing with boys from all over the country. There is a lot of exchange of knowledge, information, fashion and everything. I used to tell people should experience boarding school at least for a year Being a boarding school student, I used to tell people that everybody should experience at least one year of academics in a boarding school because that teaches you a lot. As soon as I got here, maybe in 6 months I got the show. ![]() Somewhere down the line, I was like I should go and take a shot in Mumbai, what would happen? I didn't want to end up in a phase in my life where I would be like I had the opportunity, I should have tried it. We are not going to let you just sit and waste your time till 30. ![]() We let you do all this since you were 21. You have these many years to start figuring it out. My family was like, 'You are 27 now and you are going to be 30 soon. I didn't want to end up in a phase where I would be like I should have tried it In 2022, Last year when I moved to Mumbai, I finally decided to make the move after Roadies Africa.
